Henry Weinhard’s Private Reserve
WWED Grade: B

Appearance: Clear.
Gold. Like foil. Kinda shiny. No head on this pour.
Smell: Like an American lager. Kinda musky. Not over-bearing
at all.
Taste: Not
bad. Bitter at the end. Slightly sweet for a lager. Not heavy on the hops – but
enough that you know they’re there.
Drinkability: Very easy to
drink. Mild carbonation.
ABV: 4.8%
Serving Type: Bottle poured in glass.
This is a great American
Lager. Think of a fancy Budweiser or Coors - something along those lines. Easy
to drink. Great lager flavor. The hops are well balanced. What more can I say?
Sessionable? Absolutely. Pair well with food? Totally! BBQ, Chicken, Veggies. A
real versatile beer. Just seems like something is missing – something I can’t
quite put my finger on. A little more hops maybe? Or not – Henry Weinhard’s
been brewing successfully since 1856. They obviously know what they’re doing –
worth a try for that reason alone!
